The research behind this research included empirical studies of how students learn, brain development, motivation, creativity, persistence, self-regulation, and problem-solving. The authors believe “technology can play a powerful role in the implementation of student-centered learning.” There must be a layered approach when designing technologies and the learning environment. It must include resources that are user-friendly, utilize adaptive learning technologies and take advantage of data analytics.
